Virtual meetings scheduled for September 17 to mark one year since delegate approval
Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) will host two virtual meetings for pastors on Thursday, September 17 — at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM — to mark the one-year anniversary of Mennonite Church USA delegates’ approval of the Prevention and Accountability Resource.
Approved at the 2024 MC USA delegate assembly, the Prevention and Accountability Resource provides best practices to help congregations develop healthy relationships, leadership structures, and policies for their common life together. The September meetings will give pastors and congregational leaders the opportunity to share how their congregations have begun engaging with the Resource and to learn from one another’s implementation experiences.
Discussion topics will include how Prevention-section policies align with existing congregational, ACC, or MC USA policies; whether congregations have developed policies addressing specific areas such as internet and social media use, intellectual property, and whistleblower protection; and how congregations can serve as resources to one another in strengthening accountability practices.
