Event: Virtual Meeting on Prevention & Accountability

September 17, 2026

This summer is one year since Mennonite Church USA delegates approved the Prevention and Accountability Resource to guide our efforts at being healthy, safe, and accountable congregations.  The Resource outlines the best practices for congregations as they develop congregational relationships and leadership structures to facilitate their life together.

Atlantic Coast Conference is hosting virtual meetings for pastors on Thursday, September 17 at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM to explore how congregations have begun to interact with the Prevention and Accountability Resource and provide information about its implementation.

This will be an opportunity to discuss what you and/or your leadership group have done with the Resource.  How do the policies in the Prevention part of the Resource dovetail with policies which already exist in your congregation, ACC, or Mennonite Church USA?  Do you have policies which address specific concerns identified in the Resource, e.g. internet and social media use, intellectual property, or whistle blower protection?   How can congregations be resources to each other in developing policies and implementing the Prevention portion of the Resource?  What questions do you have about either section of the Prevention and Accountability Resource?
