Canner Operator – Mennonite Central Committee
SERVICE OPPORTUNITY! Are you a hands-on person seeking a unique opportunity? Canner Operators are needed for MCC’s mobile meat canner. The Canner travels to 30 different locations in the U.S. from October through April each year. During this time, MCC workers and volunteers preserve hundreds of thousands of cans of beef, turkey, chicken and pork for communities in need across the globe. Some of the aspects of the project include: operating steam and pressure vessels, coordinating volunteers, maintaining and communicating USDA regulations, and the maintenance of machinery in the canning process.

The purpose of the MCC East Coast Peace and Practice Coordinator is to realize a ministry action rooted in Anabaptism for practical, biblical peace and practice work.
