2024 ACC Year in Review

Have you ever wondered what your church’s participation in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is all about? Following are ten things that ACC Staff and committees have been up to in the last year to resource ACC congregations and leaders:

  1. Conference Ministers Joanne, Mick, and Ruth have participated and/or preached in 27 worship services and met with ACC pastors for check-in meetings or in cluster gatherings over 240 times.
  2. We have invested $6,121 in our pastors and member congregations through the Congregational Leadership Fund, a growing endowment which gives funds for continuing education, short-term church leadership needs, and faith formation projects.
  3. Conference Ministers were involved in eight active pastoral searches, which resulted in five of those positions being filled so far.
  4. Conference Finance Secretary Njoki processed and sent over $35,121.42 in pass-thru funds to affiliated ministries designated by congregations.
  5. Conference Coordinator Brook planned and/or hosted 10+ trainings, gatherings, retreats, or delegate events either online or in-person with over 200 unique individuals participating
  6. The Executive Committee sent Anita Castle as a representative of ACC to the Hope for the Future Conference, which provides space for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) leaders from across the US to gather and share in mutual support and worship.
  7. Brook sent out nearly 10,000 emails using Constant Contact (our fancy email service) and countless other emails to connect and inform members of ACC member congregations.
  8. ACC’s Peace & Justice Committee raised $3,451.03 during this year’s Nickels for Neighbors project to support Bridge of Hope-National in its mission of ending homelessness through neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ’s love.
  9. ACC’s Ministerial Leadership Committee granted eight new credentials to ministers serving in ACC congregations or connected ministries.
  10. ACC’s Youth Committee hosted four events for ACC youth to gather and connect including the Fall Youth Retreat.

We are so grateful for all of you who are engaged with ACC conference life. You are the volunteers, committee members, pastors, administrators, treasurers, delegates and givers. You sustain both your own congregations and their connection to one another through Atlantic Coast Conference.

Would you consider an additional donation to ACC to help us keep doing these things (and more) for our community of congregations?

The general fund supports the wide variety of support services that ACC offers to member congregations.

The CLF is a growing endowment used to support congregational leadership. We are currently only $150,000 away from our goal of reaching $500,000!
